This breath technique is also known as Nadi Shodhana or Alternate Nostril Breathing and is performed by sealing off one nostril at a time to breathe through the nose. In order to bring our body into a complete state of balance, we need to calmly learn to control two different sides. Just like our brain has 2 sides, so do our respiratory and nervous systems. Breathing in this controlled manner helps to improve better oxygen flow, slow heartbeat and lower blood pressure.
